The Mountain Belles Hiking Group

One of our favorite formats of “play” is hiking in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Five years ago, I created the Mountain Belles hiking group after hearing women complain about the barriers to getting outside in nature:

“I don’t know any good trails”

“I’m scared to go alone”

“I don’t like driving by myself in the mountains”

“Who knows what trail conditions are like today?”

We live in such a beautiful place – when was the last time you surrounded yourself with nature and forest? It’s good for your soul, your body, your mind.

I believe women who feel confident outdoors feel more confident in life. We encourage our best lives and best selves through nurturing our adventurous spirit.

We are a group of women who love to hike and explore. Our current age range is 35-65, but varies with each session. It is a friendly, close-knit, non-competitive group that is always welcoming new members.

Each session runs for six months with two group hikes per month, and there are a variety of commitment levels to suit your needs.

I have researched, planned and hiked every single trail prior to the group hike.

Hike location is (mostly) the Front Range. Trail length will vary between 3-6 miles and each hike is chosen for its mountaintop views.

In order to continue deep relationships and community spirit, there is no drop-in availability. I want us to know each other and feel comfortable on the trail.

Commit to yourself and the group with an unlimited six month membership for $250. If you can only commit to six hikes, the price drops to $160 for six hikes. You can also buy a three hike membership for $90, if you can only attend a few times. For the three-pack you pay in advance, and choose the hikes that work for you.

We will often be hiking at a higher altitude, but only an intermediate level of fitness is required. If you can maintain a 20-minute mile pace over four miles, you are fit enough to join. Remember, I’m a personal trainer, you can trust me!

Many members are self-conscious about their hiking ability and confide they are worried about possibly “holding back the group”. If you are interested in joining, but worried about your hiking ability – reach out to me to discuss your current fitness level.

Session Nine: November – April

Beginning this session, hikes will take place the 2nd Saturday of each month, and the 4th Sunday of each month.

2nd Saturday Beginner Hikes

These hikes are 100% local and more beginner-friendly. During the winter, the beginner hike will stay in Boulder County so that snowshoes are not as necessary.

4th Sunday Intermediate Hikes

This group is geared for intermediate/advanced hikers with higher mileage and farther locations. The intermediate group will travel up to an hour away from Longmont because we are looking for more challenge and adventure. If you want to join for the intermediate hikes, I will email you the required gear list (spikes, snowshoes, poles, etc). If you want to join this group but are concerned about your current mileage, notice that we will be building mileage throughout the session to get you strong!

*The full membership gives you access to both hikes. If you choose to buy a package of six or three hikes, you can mix/match between days, depending on your schedule and level of adventure.

I can’t wait to see you on the trail!

Have questions? I’ve got answers.

You might be the designated planner and logistics coordinator for your family/friends, but during our hikes you get to relax. Just mark your calendar and show up. I’ve thought of everything and I want you to feel a sense of retreat on each hike.

This is a fun, safe way to experience the Colorado Wilderness. We would love for you to come hike with us!
